» SunAge available on GamersGate and TotalGaming!

This friday, SunAge was released on GamersGate.com and TotalGaming.net to the cheer of an exhilarated fanbase!

We were informed that within minutes, users were already purchasing and downloading SunAge! Then the deadful silence began...

Gritting our teeth and expectantly waiting for the inevitable player feedback, we of Vertex4 were on the edges of our seats.

When the first feedback arrived, we breathed a sigh of relief! And we want to hear what you think too!

» SunAge goes Gold!

Finally, 11 years after the inception of the original idea, with a dedicated team and the support of Lighthouse Interactive, SunAge has reached the golden stage of COMPLETION!

Gamers across the UK, Scandinavia, Benelux and Italy can start looking for the game on store shelves at the end of this month. SunAge will also be available at various direct download websites. Other European territories, including: Germany and France, will begin shipping SunAge to retailers in Q1 2008. In North America, SunAge will begin shipping to retail stores at the end of January 2008.

» The Age of The Sentinel Begins!

Little is known of the Sentinel but their existence has been in dispute for many years. Ancient guardians of the universe, some have said. The imaginings of madmen, say others. But if they do exist, are they a threat?

Mainframe uplink established...

Commander, our units in the field have managed to discover what they believe to be a Sentinel unit, known as the Behemoth. While we continue to analyse the entity, feel free to read the below report.

» Pre-release Party Video!

Our SunAge pre-release party was a great success with 15 lucky fans invited to come playtest the latest build of our game! Two of these fans were SunAge community members Koen and Phoenix who managed to capture some great footage of the event! The event was presented by Lighthouse Interactive at The Game Syndicate in The Hague, Netherlands.

With Roman Pfneudl, CEO and lead programmer, providing commentary through much of the event (except when he was sipping wine!) explaining the finer points of SunAge, you may be thinking... What have I missed?

So Julio got to work, with permission from Koen and Phoenix, compiling all the best footage from their videos into one. We also have several photos of the event, check them out!

Did I mention that the video contains the first ever gameplay footage of SunAge ever released to the public?

» The Raak-Zun Cyborg

We are proud to produce the final feature for this Raak-Zun era which has provided an insight into the motivations, backstory and units of this dangerous Cult. More info on the Raak-Zun may appear in the coming weeks.

We've been pretty busy since our last update, as our team is working hard on putting the finishing touches to the game before it goes Gold.

On October 5th, we held a party with Lighthouse Interactive, celebrating their 2 year anniversary and having a great pre-release party for SunAge. A priviledged few were invited to attend and test the latest build of SunAge, see the forum for their impressions!

» SunAge Resources on GameReplays.org!

GameReplays.org have today launched an exclusive article on the Resources of SunAge, written by one of their Senior Editors who had this to say:

What makes resources more difficult to collect is the power system the game uses. In order for buildings to work, they must be powered in one of two ways: being next to your main Base HQ, which is your main power source, or being next to a Power Transmitter, which pulls power from your main tower... if they are close enough to the HQ, or another, powered Transmitter. For a Resource Station to be useful, it must be near the resource and powered, requiring an unbroken line of Power Transmitters to the resource.

We plan on releasing a demo near game release, so keep your eyes peeled. We're sorry we've not been able to post many updates recently but we've been so busy making SunAge an even more awesome game than it already is! We also plan to release more info about SunAge's races, units and buildings in the next few weeks.
